Questions for the DJ?

Every wedding day has a soundtrack of its own—from the walk down the aisle to the first dance, the bouquet toss to your final farewell, music helps set the tone for the entire day… which is why your DJ has such an important role.  In our efforts to make sure you are most informed about wedding djs, we’ve compiled some questions for you to keep in mind when choosing your entertainment services for your wedding. The more knowledge you have, the better equipped you’ll be to make the right decision for your big day.

Q: How long have you been doing this professionally?
A: KEE has been registered with the State of Florida since 2007 and the owner Scott King (AKA DJ King), has been a professional DJ for over 20 years.

Q: Have you done events at my wedding venue? This is a great question to ask your potential vendor, although in the Central Florida Area we have been to so many venues it’s hard to distinguish them all.

Q: What sets you apart from your competition? Another great question for you to ask.
A: KEE is proud of the talent we have on our roster.  This sets us apart from other companies in the market.  Make sure to schedule a zoom meeting so we can further explain.  We also have press kits and promo videos.

Q: Are there any other services that you provide, such as lighting design or a photo booth?

A: Yes!  We have other services as well.  Photo Booths, Up Lighitng, Monogram, Twilight Drape and the Cloud Dance.

Q: Can you help me choose the music for my processionalrecessionalfather-daughter dance, etc.? Why you need to know this: If you’re having trouble choosing music for a first dance song or father-daughter dance, etc., the DJ tends to know a thing or two about choosing the right music. They can definitely be a helpful resource.

A: Yes! With our clients we send out music charts and we are available to go over suggestions for traditional dances.  We also can make personalized edits for choreographed dances.

Q: Can we submit a “Do Not Play” list? Why you need to know this: you never know what your guests are going to end up requesting. Having a “do not play” list ensures you’re not going to hear anything you and your new hubby hate.

A: Yes of coarse.  We want to make sure that we get your day the way you want it.  That’s why we love to ask a bunch of questions in advanced to be best prepared for your wedding.

Q: How much of a deposit do you require and when is it due? Do you offer a payment plan? Why you need to know this: See if you can pay them before (or after) the wedding. Trying to pay wedding vendors the day of your wedding is chaos—if you can pay them beforehand it’s preferable.

A: We only require $100 to confirm the date and the rest isn’t due until 2 weeks before the event.  Of coarse you can pay as you go and pay all up front if you choose to as well.

Q: Are you insured? Why you need to know this: Ideally, your wedding DJ or band will carry liability insurance. It covers any damage that can occur to the performers themselves and the equipment. Many venues require DJs and bands to carry liability insurance, so it’s important to know upfront if they have it.
A: Yes we are insured and we can provide your venue with the proper documents when requested.

Can you provide wireless mics for the wedding ceremony?
A: Yes we provide wireless microphones for the ceremony and the reception.

Do you bring backup equipment?
A: Yes!

What time will you arrive at the site? Why you need to know this: You want to get a confirmed arrival time from them before your wedding, and it should be early enough that the performers have plenty of time to get set up.
A: KEE performers show up 2 hours before start time to ensure they have tested the equipment and set the room well before guests arrive.

Just some questions to keep in mind.
